SB 542 Supports Officers in Their Fight Against Post-Traumatic Stress
On October 1, Governor Gavin Newsom signed into law SB 542, which allows first responders to seek workers’ compensation for post-traumatic stress caused by their jobs. It was a momentous occasion that marked a significant victory for members of law enforcement, who deal with incredible stress every day and often feel forced to suffer in silence.
Tuition Reimbursement Now Available Through LAXPD University
The Los Angeles Airport Peace Officers Association (LAAPOA) is pleased to announce a new benefit available to Airport Police officers and other Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) employees. The LAXPD University program offers tuition reimbursement for qualifying personnel to enhance their job proficiency through education and training.
