Los Angeles Airport Peace Officers’ Association sides with Jones-Sawyer

Endorsement from Influential Public Safety Group Spurs Momentum Surge for Jones-Sawyer Campaign

Los Angeles, CA – Continuing to consolidate important endorsements and support in the race to fill California’s new 59th Assembly District seat, today Secretary of the California Democratic Party, Reginald (Reggie) Jones-Sawyer won an important public safety endorsement from the Los Angeles Airport Peace Officers’ Association (LAAPOA).

“Reggie has had a lifetime of public service, his strong labor ties will bring positive change to Sacramento, his experience will continue to strengthen public safety and get our state government headed in the right direction,” said Marshall McClain, president of LAAPOA. “LAAPOA is proud to give Reggie Jones-Sawyer our endorsement and full support in his race for State Assembly.”

The Los Angeles Airport Peace Officers’ Association (LAAPOA) represents the more than 425 sworn police officers and firefighters of the Los Angeles Airport Police Department assigned to protect and serve Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), LA/Ontario International Airport (ONT) and Van Nuys Airport (VNY).

Founded in 1982, the Los Angeles Airport Peace Officers Association (LAAPOA) represents the sworn police officers of the Los Angeles Airport Police, the Los Angeles Municipal Police and the Los Angeles Park Rangers assigned to protect and serve Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), Van Nuys Airport (VNY) and the city of Los Angeles, and provide emergency medical services, law enforcement and wildland firefighting in the open space parks and throughout the city of Los Angeles.
