The Los Angeles Airport Police (LAXPD) and American Military University (AMU) have partnered to provide educational opportunities to LAXPD members and the law enforcement community. As an AMU student, you will explore the latest topics of criminal behavior, guided by faculty with strong academic credentials and practical career experience. Partnership Benefits
Tuition Grant: LAXPD members and professional staff, as well as their family members, receive a tuition grant that reduces undergraduate tuition to $812.50 per course and graduate tuition to $1,054.50 per course.
Fee Waiver: The $65 per course technology fee is waived for LAXPD members and professional staff, as well as their family members, for the duration of their programs.
Book Grant: Like all AMU undergraduates, LAXPD members, professional staff, and their family members receive textbooks and/or ebooks at no charge.
In order to receive these benefits, you MUST provide your department/agency and select LAXPD in the “Memberships and Affiliations” section of the APUS application.
Transfer-Credit Friendly
AMU recognizes academic credit from POST-certified public safety academies. AMU also awards credit for military education and training, previous college coursework, select inservice training programs, and professional certifications.
